Approximately 10 monarchs are spending the winter at Rio Salado Habitat Restoration area in downtown Phoenix. This is 8th year we've documented their presence. Due to degradation of habitat they have shifted their night roost to a DOT drainage area in the middle of palm trees and invasives. Seep willow continues to be the primary nectar. 25+ queens also present at this location.
