Bald Eagle

Roadside in tree on my way into town. We have had unusually warmer temperatures this winter. When pulling back in at home I was met with color I do not see up here this time of year...RED!. There are at least 35 birds, a flurry of males and females of Red Crossbill; not White-winged Crossbills. They are feeding on the black sunflower seeds in the deck feeders and roosting in the adjacent Crabapple tree. Have never seen these before. Some of these birds are wine red while others are orange red. Truly a beautiful Christmas time display against the white snow and evergreens.
