A mature female Ruby-throated Hummingbird came to my nectar feeder on Nov. 9th. I leave mine up and clean now, tell way into December, as we had a Rufous female last Nov. The weather was still warm enough to keep sugar water from freezing. When the weather got colder, we placed a 2nd feeder on the platform under the heat lamp. She found that one, and would sit there basking in the warmth. 3 of the nights, she sat there all night.I never saw her torpid. She left on Nov. 27th when there was a nice break in the weather winds and temps. I have many photos, just don't have on my hard drive yet.
