I was driving north on highway 39 and approaching the marsh, Kankakee on my left. This area is just south of route 8. I saw large bird to my left, west. I almost thought it was a turkey vulture when I noticed the white head and tail.
This is not the first time seen for me. In Jan of 2015 I saw a pair just west of the same area. Feb of 2015 I viewed the bald eagle actually eating a carcass on highway 39 just about20 feet north of route 8 .
I haven't any pictorial documentation yet but now I have this website I will try to get a pic
