8 Monarch caterpillars were gathered from milkweed in my garden about 10 days ago, early stage. They are now almost ready to pupate in an indoor habitat. Fortunately I had milkweed still growing in small pots which were brought in for the habitat. Last night was our first drop below freezing this winter season and all the milkweed left outside is frost damaged.

I will be releasing whatever adults are successful in chrysalis stage in late January, some perhaps February.
