1st freeze 2 nights ago - temp 31F. Perennials and Milkweeds still green and a few flowers (Copper Canyon full of yellow flowers). No adult monarchs or viable chrysalis but still seeing monarch caterpillars on tropical milkweed( and 1 old chrysalis on gulf muhly that has turned a dark color). Not sure when to cut back tropical milkweed - especially since there are caterpillars. Mid day temps high 50s to 70 past in Jan 2016. Full sun most days. Yesterday saw adult Red Admiral, Variegated Fritillary on flowering Copper Canyon.
