I heard the day before from someone that they had seen the Robins have returned to Western NC. Then the next day when a friend and I went for a walk (1/30/16) we saw about 15 Robins in someone's side yard. Some Robins stay all winter in the mid and eastern parts of NC. But here in the mountains with it's higher and colder elevations, the Robins take off for the winter. It was so nice to see them back. I've not ever seen them back this early. I just hope the climate changes (because of geoengineering) isn't telling the Robins to come back too early for their own safety and comfort.
