Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/09/2016

Number: 4

First sighting was a group of 3 Monarch hovering from tree to tree (Eucalyptus), in the golf course in our back yard. This was about 11:15 am. Heading West to East. The sighting of the 4 Monarch was about 2 pm, very large, probably male, he zoomed by me at ground level and headed North.

Earliest I've ever seen them. We've had a week of 70 degree temps. Hope this isn't confusing some. I had recently visited Newark Park where there's an overwintering site. Cloudy day and couldn't get any good pictures. Saw at least 50 Monarchs on a chilly 50 degree day flying about. Will venture again to get better pictures to post.

110% they were Monarchs I saw.
