Our yard is alive with birds right now, including hundreds of blackbirds. On Feb 9, 2016 a most unusual blackbird showed up, making ?her presence known among the cowbirds and grackles ! A Yellow-headed Blackbird .... what a SURPRISE ! While at one of our feeders she easily kept the other birds at bay and had a good meal ! I believe these blackbirds are rather rare in this area and we are glad to have ?her... Haven't seen her since the 9th, but are keeping our eyes open and the feeders filled, as well as seed on the ground ! ** (photo was taken through a window and screen so not the best quality !)
