Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 02/15/2016

Number: 1

Spied this "different" bird during my GBBC. I observed it for a long time thru binoculars. Ground feeding in mulch. Continuous tail bobbing up and down. Reddish-melon color neck patch. Black head cap. Dark bill. Towhee size. Entire body chocolate black/white feathers uniform on wings/back/belly. Checked with my biologist son. Female Red-Winged is our best guess.
