All Other Signs of Spring
Sightings report image

Number: 1

This is the warmest winter in 45 years. Lots of early signs of spring. I saw my first Robin last week, I have a feeling it was here all winter. The Trumpeter Swans are back a month early. The Crocus in my garden are starting to poke through. Normally they start to grow at the end of March or beginning of April. The Aspen tree in my yard is budding with pussy-willows, normally they appear in April. Along the river the wild pussy-willows are starting to appear, they are over a month early. The wild Willow are starting to bud and it looks like sap is covering the buds. There is very little snow cover in town, I hope there won't be to much winter kill. I love the warm weather but I'm not sure it's a good thing for nature.
