This morning at about 7 a.m. I saw this poor red-wing eating quite rapidly at my feeding station. And what a day to return: 33 degrees with a northerly wind 15-20 mph, gusting to 30-40 mph. At least the snow storm stayed to the southeast for him. But, I'm thinking he's probably re-thinking his decision to come back today or he drew the short straw to be the early scout. By the way, he wasn't doing any singing either--saving his energy to eat, drink and stay warm.
