Earthworm (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/03/2016

Number: 1

Snow all day with 4 inches already on the ground. A narrow edge of bare earth shows up against the house facing south. I hear the familiar cluck of a robin and crane to see through the window a robin turning over a fat earthworm in the bare spot. Then, in a gulp, the worm is gone. Meanwhile, 50-plus Red-winged Blackbirds mob the feeder area, many singing. Thirty degrees today. Near 60 degrees next week.
