Monday, March 7 - Heard a muttered robin call, soft and not broadcasting yet. Watched him for awhile perched high in the walnut tree, swaying to the wind's song. Yesterday, Tuesday, saw a 3 rowdy red-winged blackbirds tumbling around the yard. Spotted at least 6 robins stalking worms in various yards in our area. Later, heard killdeer calling in the cornfield. Last night, the songs of "Spring Peepers," frog song rode the wind. This morning, Wednesday, a pair of bluebirds began checking out our birdhouses to see if they were up for rent. Got to go clean them, Spring's here in a hurry!
