Ice-Out
Sightings report image

Date: 03/14/2016

Number: 1

Early is the word for ice-out on Christie's Pond! We have seen the ice go out in March twice before, but this is five days earlier than our previous early ice-out in 2012. Normal ice-out on Christie's takes place in the first or second week of April.

No sooner than the pond became 50% ice-free - a pair of ducks landed on the water!

Very warm and dry winter, hardly any snow and frequent spells of above freezing temperatures.
