Robin (Nesting Behavior)

Date: 03/13/2016

Number: 1

Robin on ground at mulch & dried leaves areas & flying back & forth between bushes that are about 6-7 feet high. She could have been looking for insects but she was flying back & forth so fast I think she was gathering nesting material. Other birds are displaying nesting behavior. We have some type of baby birds (on the other side of us)next door. I can hear them (sounds like maybe the Carolina Wrens when the mom brings back food to the nest). I have noticed Carolina Wren visiting my suet feeder more often & taking it next door. Our neighbors let their thicket grow under the trees around their perimeter of the yard & I provide the food & water. Also, our birdbath is full of twigs etc. that some type of bird must be moistening material for nest. This was between 1-3 pm (CST). Warm & sunny 88-90 Degrees.
