Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/17/2016

Number: 1

Just after 6pm this evening saw our 1st Monarch of the year...nectaring on a purple mountain laurel bloom in our front yard.

Unable to determine sex or wing condition but it did not appear to be fresh.

Briefly walked away to get a camera and it disappeared into the trees.

The last Monarchs we have seen in our area were in early December.
