We live in New Orleans & have been seeing numerous monarch caterpillars in our yard over the past two weeks. Our milkweed leaves have sprouted. I am sorry I do not know the species.
Is it true that some milkweed species encourage the spread of parasites more than others? A neighbor mentioned that to me but I had never heard it before. Quite a few on our monarchs seem to fall victim each year.
