Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 03/21/2016

Number: 5

As of yesterday, I have four adult male Black-chinned hummingbirds at my nectar feeders. Each has staked out a feeder and is protecting it. There is also a female hummer at the feeders but I am uncertain as to whether she is a Ruby-throated or Black-chinned. The temperature dipped into the upper 30's overnight so I'm sure the hummers appreciate the feeders. I also have a coral honeysuckle in full bloom right now (see photo) so here in Central Texas, the welcome mat is out for the hummers!
