Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/26/2016

Number: 1

In Southern Ontario we experienced an ice storm March 23/24 with a lot of devastation to trees in some areas. Some people have been without power for days with power lines taken down by fallen trees. My location at Wasaga Beach got off relatively well with no loss of power and only a light coating of ice on trees. South of us we were told that there was 3" of ice on trees. Birds have been eating from feeders and checking out bare spots in the grass/dirt as the ice/snow melts. This robin is eating leftover fruit from a cherry tree. A lot of song birds have been in the area for weeks now with a premature onset of warm weather. Heavy rain is expected this evening.
