Sightings report image

Date: 03/27/2016

Number: 1

I walked to an open field just down from our house in the late evening sun yesterday. The field is full of prairie verbena and lots of native asperula milkweed. I found 2 more eggs and observed a faded Monarch nectaring on the verbena flowers. I watched it for about 20 minutes go from flower to flower nectaring heavily. I took a few photos and may post them later if the quality is good.
