Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 03/30/2016

Number: 1

When I had a chance to go outside walking in our pastures again around 5pm, I saw a beautiful monarch flying and laying eggs. Earlier in the afternoon I had seen 3 egg-laying monarchs, who had all seemed fairly faded. This monarch had no tattering and was very bright-winged. I watched her seek out milkweed for about 30 minutes. She took her time and found emerging milkweed deep in the grasses. She rested a few times and laid eggs on many different milkweed plants. So happy to see all the monarchs today!
