Tulips BLOOMED
Sightings report image

Date: 03/28/2016

Number: 1

As we arrived back from Spring Break, we found that 79 of our 120 tulips have bloomed! 107 have emerged, although “something” has eaten several (deer, squirrels?). We had a few surprises as well. One tulip is yellow, and obviously a different type of tulip based on its shape and markings. Another tulip is red, but has round petals rather than pointy, and does not have any black markings inside. Two of our tulips popped up about twenty feet away in a different planting bed. We guess a squirrel dug up the bulbs, then “hid” them again. We are enjoying learning about the parts of a flower, and creating quotes about our beautiful garden based on the book we are reading The Secret Garden.
