Around noon today our son looked out the window and saw a monarch perching on some milkweed in our backyard. So I got out my camera and followed her around for awhile. It was very warm at 80 degrees F with mostly sun and quite humid. She fluttered and flew quite diligently in her search for milkweed, floating gracefully here and there, looking and finding young milkweed in the general greenery. The air was very still so her presence created a timeless moment. This is a photo of her laying her egg on a fresh milkweed.
