Big News! Our Tulips Have Emerged!!
This morning our Grade 2 and 3 classes went out to check on our tulip garden. It was a very cold, but sunny day! The temperature was -9C, but with the wind chill it felt like -15C. We still have to wear our winter clothes! We were very excited to see that our tulips had emerged! There were little yellow, red and green tips coming up out of the frozen ground! We couldn’t believe it!! It was awesome! They must be very strong to be able to come up out of the frozen ground. There was no snow left on the garden at all, but there was still some snow around it. We did not have as much snow in Miramichi, as we had last year.
Our partner school in Dallas, Texas have already had their tulips bloom and they didn’t plant them until January! We have found out that our temperatures are quite different.
Now we can’t wait until they bloom! We think it will be in the month of May. As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers!
