Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 01/05/2016

Number: 1

I never saw a hummingbird before and one day I got a photo of one perched on a wire in my yard.I believe it is a female (white throat) I bought a feeder and she came several times a day, every day, in January and all of February. Stopped seeing her beginning of March. She mostly ate from the feeder but I did see her eat from the flower blossoms in my papaya tree. Behavior: She would always perch on the same 2 branches on the hedge in our yard. Go to the feeder then to the branch, repeat. Rarely I would catch her on the wires in our yard. Going to plant some firecracker plants in hopes of her return next year! I also got a photo of a hummingbird moth (weird!) in my papaya tree at night! Thought it was the hummingbird at night until I saw the still shot! So cool!
