Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 04/08/2016

Number: 6

Altus and I spent the last two days (April 8-9) over there and watched
carefully for a couple of hours as drove we around in the
ecart trying to let Altus identify more of the spring blooming
flowers. We got close to six Monarchs as we were slowly going
along ... one coupled pair. Altus saw a Monarch out our RV
window in the morning visiting milkweeds and it finally stopped
on a tall, fragrant gaillardia. She got her camera and started
out but it didn't wait!

What we were looking for
was evidence of larval activity ... some, but very little.
We found a few plants of the A. viridiflora in a new place
this year. A little rain would help.
