Around 11 am we saw 1 male Hummingbird feeding at the feeder located at kitchen window. It was 84 Degrees later in the afternoon with a severe thunderstorm with hail which left twigs, leaves in yard. The storm was around 5:30 pm. (the time I begin bird watching). I thought I would see them come to the feeders right after the storm passed 20 mins. later but I might have missed their fuel up since I do have 5 feeders up. I am thinking of taking some down so I do not miss their slip in & out as they are not staying long at feeders. I think they are fueling up on insects & flowers to get ready for mating season. Our males are rather "fat". I have observed in the past week the Large Black Chinned doing his "zig-zag" flight pattern as he catches insects hovering together in the air.
