Around 3pm saw 1 male feed at kitchen window feeder. From 6:50 pm-7:35 pm I saw 5-6 sightings of 2 different male Black-Chinned Hummers at 2 Patio feeders. I heard the "Wing-Whirl", verbal sounds,& territorial activity. At first the feedings were every 10 min. then the feedings were more frequent about every 5-6 mins apart. Around that time I realized the smaller male seemed to be watching the larger male and as soon as he would leave feeder the smaller one would "slip in" for a quick 2-3 sips hovering the whole time. I also realized that the larger one would sit to feed & take more time at the feeder. The smaller one never sat at all; only hovers & takes 1-3 sips & he is gone. He feeds really fast. This has been their behavior the whole time since I have seen these 2 Hummers. Overcast & cool with 64 degrees.
