I put in a 40 plant Butterfly weed garden and this year. Within 30 minutes of putting the first 20 plants in the ground (as I was watering them in) a Monarch was laying eggs all over it. It has produced 13 chrysalises and released at least 13 Monarchs that I have counted. I also have fennel, rue and purple passionflower for other butterflies. I have numerous nectar plants as well. I'm in Houston TX.
