Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 04/18/2016

Number: 2

Two female Ruby throat hummingbirds made it thru last night's lighting, thunder deluge of 12 hours of a humdinger rainy storm. They chase somewhat and are feeding on Hamelia, Purple porter weed, and coral honeysuckle. I sighted the first one checking out a pinch waste feeder with those large red plastic flowers at about 9 a.m. during the rain. Houston got 12 inches of rain in spots with the Bayous overflowing into neighborhoods. I am exhausted watching them today because of lack of sleep from the thunder. They are still going.. Don't know how they have so much energy with all that noise last night.
