"A winner has been announced in the annual Wilson Lake Ice Out contest, after the contest's caretaker declared that Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m. was the winning time."
"Wilton Fish and Game Association's member Bruce Dyke of Wilton restarted the ice out contest in 2013. Ice out records have been carefully kept (see history dates below) since 1889. The latest ice out date came in 1893 when it occurred on May 12. The earliest the ice completely disappeared from Wilson Lake came in 2012 on March 27, following a record week of 80-degree days that month."
