Just returned from the big island of Hawaii. Saw a total of 10 monarchs in 5 days, 7 at the location marked by Black Sand Beach area. They were in a area of a cattle water tank and the edge of a golf course. Never saw any plant that resembles a milk weed so not sure what they are breed on there. Most were in fair shape. None looked newly emerged.
