I went out to check on the milkweed, eggs, and larvae as it had stormed the night before ~ lots of wind, thunder, lightning, and about 1.5 inches of rain. It was around 3:30pm and was overcast with a light mist at times and about 68 degrees F. As I was looking closely at a tiny larva in a "skyscraper" milkweed, I looked up and saw a beautiful female monarch resting on a tall plant about 12 feet away. It was an unexpected moment as I had not seen monarchs for two days, but there she was ~ completely peaceful and a wonderful blessing presence in the monarch nursery.
