Today I saw the same female monarch as yesterday. This time she was nectaring on milkweed flowers and I was able to get more photos. I saw her around 1:30pm ~ it was overcast, very still, about 71 degrees F, and with humidity of 70%. It was really wonderful to see her again! In the photo the flower she is nectaring from is hidden, the other buds are still unbloomed. Later, I saw a faded monarch fly across our front yard. Then when I went driving I saw a monarch about 2 miles from home flying above a beautiful milkweed and wildflower filled ditch next to a 2-lane highway.
