This is another follow-up photo to my earlier report. It shows a faded female laying an egg on a milkweed, fairly hidden in the deep grass. I saw her perform an interesting maneuver at one point. She was fluttering around looking for milkweed, when suddenly she dropped down into the deep grass. A few seconds later a male monarch zipped past me flying right over her hidden location. When he had gone she resumed her search for suitable milkweed. How she saw him coming from a good distance away I do not know!
