This afternoon was warm and humid. It was around 80 degrees F, partly cloudy, with a very light breeze. I saw at least 10 monarchs over the course of the afternoon. They were egg-laying, nectaring, resting, and the males were doing a lot of flying looking for females. This is a photo of a beautiful female monarch nectaring on a flowering milkweed in between egg-laying. Her wings are faded with just a bit of tattering to the edges.
