I saw several monarchs flying around and went to milkweed patch to take a picture and saw these two mating. Soon a bee came up and the male flew off, the bee stung the female and I picked her up and took her to safety. Later put her out on a blossom and she flew away. No doubt about the mating I was very close and have a video. Since I raise monarchs I often see a few pairs mating in the bottle brush tree.
