Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 04/23/2016

Number: 1

Note: This is the same bird I reported in first ruby throat sighted. This male RT stopped and nectared on my red buckeye trees (Aesculus pavia--3 mature in bloom), and also hit some pink petunias and some red pentas (all these annuals bought yesterday). He also hit my feeder that has been up for several weeks (it has been dumped and cleaned every few days.) My red buckeyes have been blooming for nearly two weeks. The RT heading north have always loved the red buckeye blooms. Red buckeyes are a relatively small tree--about 25 ft tall and about 20-30 ft wide at maturity and are native to many eastern, midwestern and southern states.
