SouthRidge Park, a block from my house, is now covered with hundreds of growing milkweed plants of at least three native species: common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca), whorled milkweed (Asclepias verticillata) and climbing milkweed (Cynanchum laeve; aka "sand vine" or "honeyvine"). The photo shows just a few square feet with many shoots of common milkweed and climbing milkweed growing.
