This is a follow-up photo to my earlier report. At 2:15 I saw this monarch nectaring for about 5 minutes at this fresh yellow thistle near our driveway. (I got a better photo because I could sneak up behind a bush growing nearby.) It is much in contrast to the faded, tattered one I had seen just 15 minutes earlier. You can see it has a wasp companion ~~ that nectar must be really good! PS. The wasp left first.
