Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/26/2016

Number: 1

Saw male ruby throated hummingbird at 2:00 p.m. darting at small house finch that was perched on blooming Amalanchor tree. It was fiesty and constantly came close to this bird until it flew from the branch. The male also did its "u-shaped" dance as it approached the finch. I hung the window feeder the day before and noticed how quickly the juice was going down. I thought I had a leak or other birds were feeding. Turned out it was the hummer. Not sure if I have 1 or more males since I"ve seen constant feeding since Tues.
