Tulips BLOOMED
Sightings report image

Date: 04/22/2016

Number: 1

All 19 of our tulips bloomed! We saw a lot of red and green. All but three of our tulip blooms got knocked off by the rain. We were disappointed. It smelled like a farm. The air temperature was 46 degrees F and the soil temperature was 54 degrees F. We heard birds chirping. It was really cold outside. The sky was as gray as Philip's sweatshirt. We saw peanut shells in the garden which made us think that squirrels have been in our garden. We saw some small holes in the leaves of our tulips and we wonder if caterpillars were eating our tulip leaves or if the rain was so hard that it ripped the holes into the leaves. Some of the holes looked chewed. The soil was wet and moist because it rained a lot. And that is the story of our tulips blossoming. Next we will dig them up and take them out of the garden.
