This was a wonderful May 1st as this beautiful female monarch was born today! She had taken chrysalis form on April 21. She was one of 10 larvae rescued from the flooding creek bottomland ~~ and the first to now emerge as a magnificent monarch butterfly. I released her outside in the afternoon and she flew off to adventure forth on her journey north!
