At around 2pm I saw a very faded monarch gracefully floating and flying over our yard and down into the pastures. I followed as best I could (no camera). Seemed to be checking the milkweed and tall plantains for nectar. Sailed down a path between trees ~~ couldn't keep up, so I stopped ~~ a minute later it sailed right past me again just over my shoulder. I think this was a male, though not definite. It was a sunny, hot, windy afternoon of about 80 degrees F, with humidity of around 52%.
