Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 05/01/2016

Number: 1

At around 12 noon I saw a monarch fly past our house and onward over the pastures ~~ too fast to get details or a photo. It was sunny, 81 degrees F, with a light breeze, and 68% humidity. We had had 2 inches of rain the day before in an early morning thunderstorm. Today was also the day our first indoor-reared monarch was born (reported in Monarch, Captive-Reared). She was from the larvae group rescued ahead of the bottomland flooding of April 18.
