Well here we go! This morning we saw our first hummingbird of 2016, a male who visited our feeder only briefly, and then returned a short while later.

For our location this is rather a late first sighting. We have recorded first sightings on May 4, 5, and 6 in most years... and the earliest date we have recorded a first sighting is May 1, 2011. The latest we have recorded a first sighting is May 14, 2010.
