The leaves on our "leaf out" Sugar Maple have burst out to the size of a quarter today... so we're declaring Leaf out for 2016!

Over the years we have observed the same Sugar Maple to determine our leaf out date, and the earliest we have seen leaf out on our tree is April 20, 2012. The latest our Maple has leafed out was on May 13, 2011.

This year's date of May 11 is actually fairly "normal"... it's the April dates that are unusual!
