Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/12/2016

Number: 1

Female - noticed last week that one feeder was down maybe a half an inch. Wasn't positive. Then yesterday the same feeder was now down another inch. Changed all the sugar water this morning and at 2:34 this after noon, Thursday, I saw her flit by the kitchen window and land at the window feeder. I also put out my yard feeders for the hummers who may not have been here before. The last season hummers all enjoy the window feeders. I think they feel protected from other birds. I read an article about hawks and hummers who nest just within their range and use the hawks as their protection. And yes, I have pair of nesting red-tails.
