I saw a praying mantis nymph on the gryphon begonia plant that is in a pot on the patio. The nymph is very small, about 1/4 inch long. I don't usually expect to see praying mantis nymphs until mid-June. This one is so small, I wonder if it just hatched today. I've read that they don't hatch until the temperature has been in the 90s for a few weeks. It was 90 degrees today; maybe that's all it took to hatch out.
